How to Seal KERACAST® for a Long-Lasting, Professional Finish

How to Seal KERACAST® for a Long-Lasting, Professional Finish

KERACAST naturally dries with a beautiful matte finish—but if you want your creations to withstand moisture, wear, and daily use, sealing is essential. Whether you're working with KERACAST or any other water-to-powder casting material, applying a high-quality sealer enhances both durability and appearance. It’s especially important for functional pieces like coasters, trays, and planters where protection from water and stains makes all the difference.

Why Seal Your KERACAST?

💧 Protection from Water & Staining
KERACAST is porous by nature. Sealing your piece helps prevent water rings, dirt buildup, and staining—especially important for items like bathroom accessories, candle vessels, and planters.

🌟 Enhanced Color & Finish
Sealing helps bring out the richness of your pigments and adds a soft satin or gloss effect depending on your product choice.

🧼 Easy to Clean
A sealed surface is much easier to wipe down, especially for functional decor or items that come into contact with food-safe surfaces (like trays or bowls).

How to Use KERA SEALER

  1. Let your KERACAST piece cure fully (typically 24 hours).

  2. Use a soft brush or lint-free cloth to apply a thin layer of KERA SEALER.

  3. Let dry for 30–60 minutes. Apply a second coat for added protection.

  4. Allow to cure for at least 12 hours before heavy use.

Optional: Use a fine sanding sponge before sealing for an ultra-smooth surface.
