WHAT IS JESIN?

WHAT IS JESIN?

You love the "concrete look?" Do you like it more matte than shiny? JESIN is a rather casual, modern and quite ecological pouring style.

There are so many possibilities what u can pour with JESIN:

BASICS : The plastic-hard polymer plaster

JESIN is a 2-component polymer gypsum system consisting of a gypsum base component (the powder) and a water-based acrylic resin (the liquid). The polymeric cross-linking of the gypsum crystals with the acrylate results in a very high strength.

Material properties:

  • solvent-free
  • environmentally friendly
  • low heat development during curing process (max. 40°C)
  • no shrinkage
  • flame retardant (EN 13501-1 and ASTM E84-15b)
  • UV-resistant
  • paintable, machinable (drilling, milling, grinding, polishing etc.)
  • shelf-life of approx. 18 months with correct storage
  • Shore: D 80
  • Color: creamy white
  • Density dry: 1,67 kg/liter
  • Density wet: 1,75 kg/liter
  • Hardness: Shore D 80

JESIN is a compound of liquid and powder with the following mixing ratio: 1 part JESIN liquid and 2 parts JESIN powder (1:2). The mixture is always based on weight.

MIXTURE : 1 PART LIQUID + 2 PARTS POWDER

Mixing can be done with a stir stick (smaller amounts) or with a high shear mixer. You can also use an old hand mixer for cake dough from the kitchen ;)

The JESIN mixture is ready when there are no lumps left; this takes about 1 minute. Try to mix the mixture with as few air bubbles as possible by keeping the head of the mixer below the surface.

You can now pour the JESIN into your silicone molds directly after mixing.

WORKING TIME: 20-25 min

The mold can usually be released after a short time, depending on the size of the cast object. For delicate objects, this time may be somewhat longer.

DE-MOLDING possible: 30-60 min

The complete final strength of approx. 80° Shore D is obtained after a few days.

You can prevent bubbles from forming on the surface by using different methods: First, brush the mold with a thin layer of JESIN (only possible for single-color creations) so that all recesses/structures are JESIN fills all recesses/structures. Any streaks created by brushing will disappear again due to the flow properties of the material.

Pour the rest of the JESIN material along the edge so that it can run evenly into the mold.

Then remove any air bubbles by gently tapping the outside of the mold or by placing a massager on the tabletop (vibrations will cause the air bubbles to come to the surface).

If you have not mixed enough JESIN mass, you can add another layer of JESIN within 20-30 min.

JESIN can be excellently colored with COLORBERRY LIQU-MENTS, because these medium-viscosity colors were specially developed to color polymer gypsum systems (such as JESIN). They have exceptionally high pigmentation and UV resistance.

In addition, JESIN is compatible with a wide range of fillers such as sand, marble, stone chips, shells and metal powders.

Depending on how many drops of the LIQU-MENTS are added to the JESIN mass, the intensity of the color varies. Many drops result in a high color saturation, few drops lead to a rather pale shade (e.g. baby pink with the LIQU-MENT FLIRT).

If you want to bring your beautiful creations in contact with water, then I advise you to use a sealer. This sealing is possible with natural, food-safe beeswax or with professional sealing (COLORBERRY SATIN SEALER).

HAPPY POURING !
